Public Knowledge will be urging Congress and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to protect openness as part of the National Broadband Plan. This is greatly need given disapointing ru.ing in Comcast v. FCC. :
- On Wednesday, PK President Gigi B. Sohn will speak at a FCC workshop in Seattle about how best to protect broadband consumers. - On Thursday, PK Legal Director Harold Feld will testify at a Congressional hearing on the National Broadband Plan. Harold will argue that the FCC should increase choice and competition in the set-top box market by allowing consumers to use the devices of their choice with their subscription TV services, in order to easily access a variety of applications and web content on their TVs.
